When we started in 1984, we were originally part of a company called Unimart. After a year, several of us decided to become our own corporation that focused entirely on business solutions. When we met with our lawyer, he made a passionate statement about our desire to get on with our lives and our work, suggesting that we "had reached the Rubicon, and are ready to cross into the Promise Land".

When trying to decide on a name for our new company, we kept coming back to Rubicon. It seemed fitting because we felt as though we were crossing our own Rubicon in our efforts to become a separate company.

That idea stuck, and The Rubicon Group Limited became the official name of our corporation.
